About
A reflective and hands-on ritual created in collaboration with Studio Sauls, exploring protection, symbolism, boundaries, and the spaces we inhabit both internally and externally.
Through guided reflection, intention setting, and the tactile process of papier-mâché mask-making, participants create a symbolic object for the home — a personal guardian embodying what they wish to invite, protect, release, or strengthen within their lives.
Protective masks have existed across cultures for centuries — not only as objects of decoration or ceremony, but as symbolic thresholds between the inner and outer world.
Across traditions, masks have been used to:
protect homes and sacred spaces
ward off unwanted energies
honor ancestors
embody transformation
guide ritual transitions
hold collective memory and symbolism
In this workshop, papier-mâché becomes more than a craft practice. It becomes a vessel for intention.
Participants are invited to create intuitively and symbolically rather than aiming for perfection. The process emphasizes reflection, emotional grounding, and creative ritual.
The mask may become:
a guardian for the home
a symbolic boundary
a reminder of inner strength
a witness to personal transformation
an object infused with care, protection, and intention
